More Information

Since 1980, Mariposa Farm has specialized in the production of Barbarie ducks, Embden geese and their fine delicacies. The family-owned farm is located in Plantagenet, Ontario, about 45 minutes east of Ottawa.

Mariposa products have a distinctive and unique taste because the tenderness and flavour are directly related to how the birds are raised. At Mariposa Farm, all birds are grain-fed, watered with well water and free-ranged, thus enjoying the benefits of sun and fresh air. Because the meat is air chilled and not water chilled, natural flavours and freshness are locked in. All meat is free of hormones, chemical products and preservatives. Mariposa products can be found throughout the restaurants, fine foods stores and butcher shops of the Ottawa-Hull region.

In addition to poultry, Mariposa Farm also pasture-raises pork and lamb, available in the fall in very limited quantities. Call for more information.

Mariposa Farm has transformed an old barn into a quaint dining room with a panoramic view of the rolling countryside. Country style fare is served during the farm's Sunday Lunch, and the farm's restaurant can also accommodate private groups up to 50 people. Also located in the dining room is our store where we offer a wide range of products from ducks and geese, homemade preserves, jam and jellies, to mousses and pâtes. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
