About Tawanda Farms

Tawanda Farms is 120 acres of land tucked snugly in the shadow of Mount Shasta in Montague, California. Our animals (wonderful stress-free Romney sheep and Murray Grey cattle) are never in feed-lots or grain-fed; all of our meats come from pastured animals that feast on sweet, mixed meadow grasses that produce lean, succulent, hormone- and antibiotic-free meat. Not only are the animals grass-fed, but they are grass-finished as well. Grain never passes their lips. Tawanda Farms guarantees that:

  • All meat is raised on this farm
  • All meat in your order comes from one individual animal
  • All meat is pasture fed, never on a feed-lot
  • Growth hormones and maintenance antibiotics are never used
  • No pesticides are used on grazing fields
  • All meat is dry-aged 21 days to assure tenderness and flavor
  • All meat is USDA inspected and certified

Lamb and beef are available for purchase directly from the farm either in individual cuts or by the whole, ½, or ¼. Lamb is usually available in the fall and it is advised that customers place orders in the spring and summer. Beef should be available year-round.
