The Village TeaRoom
About The Village TeaRoom
Located in the historic town of New Paltz, The Village TeaRoom occupies a quaint old house in the town center. The three dining rooms are spread over two floors, and during warm weather months, patio seating in the front provides grand views of the Shawangunks. Hand-hewn beams and wooden shelves and tables lend a homey, cozy touch to the dining areas. Also a member of the Hudson Valley chapter of Slow Food, The Village TeaRoom's mission is to offer high quality, local, seasonal and organic food at reasonable prices. The cooks who prepare each dish are passionate about the craft of carefully prepared wholesome food. Throughout the season local farmers provide the restaurant with a bounty of produce that travels mere miles before it is transformed into the dishes that have already become signatures.Only the best, most wholesome ingredients are used at The Village TeaRoom. This means sweet cream butter, farm fresh eggs, local non-homogenized milk and cream, unbleached flour, and aluminum-free baking powder. The Village TeaRoom also serves 20 varieties of tea and homebaked scones, muffins and pastries, in addition to a full dinner menu and small, thoughtful wine list.
The Village TeaRoom is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tea, complete with tiered platters and elegant pots of tea, is served Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
