Emma's Family Farm is a family owned and operated farm growing pasture raised chickens, guinea fowl, pigs and grass fed beef. All animals are raised on our hillside pasture with plenty of high protein forage available to supplement the high quality grain we feed. Folks are welcome to email or call to order and/or come for a visit. Our pastures provide plentiful feed for our livestock but because of the Maine climate many items are raised seasonally. During times when pasture is not available, we keep products frozen for wholesale and retail customers. The farmstead here has been settled since the early 1800s and we're proud to use this land for its best purpose: a family farm! We have Rhode Island Red and Aracana laying hens for a variety of colored (green, blue, pink and brown) eggs. In our rotational system, the cattle eat the pasture down and the chickens follow; each add their fertilizer and the chickens scratch, peck and spread it well. Animals, including the laying hens and pigs, are allowed enough space and diversity in grazing so they can act naturally and eat well. We feed high quality grain from Maine farms and New England mills. All meats are processed under state inspection unless ordered as a "custom" package of beef or pork. Inspected products are available at the farm and at some area stores and restaurants. If you can’t find them in Central and Midcoast Maine, please call or email us. Chickens, guinea fowl, pigs, cattle are all raised on pasture with no hormones or antibiotics. Our meats are available for wholesale or retail purchase. We also raise a variety of organically grown garden produce.
