About Westwind Orchard

Westwind Orchard is locally historic farm and orchard. Five years ago, Fabio, along with his wife and son, and with fond memories of his childhood growing up outside Rome, Italy, began to bring it back into production, this time as an organic orchard. Over this time, he has put his orchard back into production using organic and low input methods. In 2008, this fall!, after years of hard work, Fabio will realize his dream and harvest his first big apple crop. Located in the heart of New York's Rondout Valley, Westwind Orchard is setting the stage for a comeback of orchards in this beautiful, agrarian part of the Hudson Valley. Once a major fixture of the landscape, orchards have been abandoned or replaced by development or other types of agriculture. Yet, orchard history in the valley stretches back to the first settlements in the 1700s. Come join Fabio this fall for a beautiful day of apple picking at historic Westwind Orchard.
