About Patchworks Farm

Patchworks Farm is a program of Community Service Learning Connection (CSLC) a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. Patchworks has been operating for ten years and is now concentrating solely on offering a pathway to sustainability through place-based education. We also sell produce at farm stands, please check the website for current locations. The CSLC credo is LEAP, an acronym for "Live simply, Educate for change, Advocate for justice and Practice saying thanks". We, like the frog in the French recipe, sit unnoticing as the temperature rises around us, and we, like the frog, will come to a quick end unless we wake up and muster the moral courage to leap.Patchworks Farm is a grass-roots community collaboration of schools, businesses, healthcare organizations, and agribusinesses all of whom support our mission of fostering earth-friendly, sustainable living. Our non-profit corporation has formed this collaboration to develop a beautiful 5 acre farm as our learning laboratory. We have a delightful, red barn set up as a classroom and are located near Ursuline and Cardinal Newman High Schools in Northern Santa Rosa. We engage hundreds of youth from elementary to community college age groups in various land-based sustainability oriented projects to help guide them to a more sustainable future. Current Projects Include: Sustainable farming classes for children through high school age Water conservation Organic food production Biodiesel fuel production Solar voltaic energy systems Bee production Composting Summer gardening classes for children A seed-to-table project for under-served kids
