About Hardy's Farm Market

William J. Hardy came from England in the late 1800's and settled in East Bloomfield. He bought the farm on Victor-holcomb road. He farmed the land primarily potatoes, until he sold the farm to his son Wilson M. Hardy. Wilson and his wife Ethel farmed and sold their eggs, milk, butter and produce for many years until they started to grow wheat, oats and hay. Wilson passed on and Ethel and her son William A. Hardy continued to farm the same way for 20 years. Ethel passed on and my father William A. Hardy bought his sisters half of the farm from her. My father and myself, William M. Hardy, farmed the same way for the next 15 years. My Father decided to retire and I bought the farm and gave my father life use of the homestead where he was born along with his two sisters. I farmed the same land and grew to about 1,000 acres growing hay, soy beans, corn and wheat. I also had a son William and daughter Lisa and they helped with the farming. We sold roadside sweet corn and peaches with some tomatoes that Billy and Lisa grew. In 2000, we cut back on the cash crop acres and decided to focus on local produce. We sell at the market, local farm markets and wholesale some. William A. Hardy still participates to the best of his ability at the age of 89. Seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables picked daily. Plants, flowers, planters, bird houses and food. Locally made quilts. Open daily May-November; May-June Mon.-Fri. 2-7pm, Sat.-Sun. 9am-8pm; July-September, 9am-8pm daily.
