About Kavarna Coffeehouse

Kavarna is a coffeehouse and restaurant in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was opened by Linda in November of 1999. Her husband Alex's involvement began in 2005, when they decided to make Kavarna a family business. We serve a full menu of delicious, vegetarian foods designed to appeal to the vegetarian and meat-eater alike. We are also ridiculously committed to providing our customers with strong coffee, well prepared espresso drinks, the best selection of tea in the region, and other fine beverages. We are committed to providing an environment conducive for conversation, reflection, work, meetings, dates, and other forms of socially positive interaction. We are also committed to being (or trying to be) a green business. We are acutely self-conscious about our use of energy (all restaurants are energy hogs) and we do what we can to mitigate our impact by purchasing green energy from WPS via their NatureWise program, using compostable corn plastics, paper recyclable cups, and using organic foods when possible (no petroleum-based fertilizers!) We also work with Northeastern Wisconsin's environmental activist community, often providing space for various events, such as the monthly Green Bay Green Drinks gathering (third Thursday of the month, 6-10pm).
