At Heine Brothers' Coffee, all of the coffee is fair trade and organic. As a member of Cooperative Coffees, they import their beans directly from the farmers, and roast it 5 days a week in their small-batch roaster in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. All of their coffee is organically grown, meaning that no chemicals or other harmful pest control was used. This approach focuses on building healthy soil through composting, terracing, and inter-cropping, instead of fertilizing with synthetic chemicals. By utilizing these practices farmers are able to protect the quality of their water and soil, ensuring a healthy environment for generations to come.
