Winter Sun Farms buys fresh produce at the peak of freshness from more than 30 Hudson Valley, New York farms and freezes it for winter distribution to more than 2,000 members in New York City, the greater metro region and throughout the Hudson Valley. Members can choose from four or five distributions at set locations, some of which coincide with full winter farmers’ markets. Last year the 4-time share included 28 items in total (7 items per pick-up), including the following frozen: 3 Heirloom Red Tomatoes 24oz 2 Peppers (mix of red,green, and yellow) 12oz 1 Carolina Gold Yellow Tomatoes 24oz 2 Whole Raspberries 5oz 3 Whole Blueberries 8oz 2 Broccoli Florets 12oz 2 Sweet Corn 16oz 3 Green Beans 12oz 3 Butternut Squash Puree 16oz 1 Fall Greens Mix 12oz 2 Edamame 12oz Additionally, each share included 1/3 lb fresh Pea Shoots from the greenhouse.
