About Edmund's Oast

Edmund Egan was an English-born brewer who came to Charleston in the 1760s and started producing beer soon after. He had great success and donated large amounts of money to the American Revolution, earning him the name "The Rebel Brewer". Oast is an old European term for a kiln used in the drying of hops. Together the two make the name Edmund's Oast. In this classic tradition, Edmond's Oast offers a full line of their own brews as well as a full food menu. Chef Andy Henderson is a rising culinary talent who brings his years of experience working in some of the country's best kitchens to the menu at Edmund's Oast. He believes that fresh is best and so, strives to make all dishes simple in their composition. By using the freshest, most local ingredients, he knows that you need not have a lot on a plat to make it taste good. Edmund's Oast offers an elevated but approachable menu and will allow guests to take risks if they would like and will allow comforting options for any diner to enjoy. The philosophy behind Henderson's food is to be authentic without being pretentious and to deliver the comforts of thoughtfully and responsibly sourced food that is inspired by the beverages featured on the menu.
