About Long Meadow Ranch

Instead of the "mono-culture" that has emerged in the Napa Valley, at Long Meadow Ranch we have developed an integrated farming system that relies on each part of the Ranch contributing to the health of the whole. Long Meadow Ranch is an innovative organic farming operation and purveyor of fine foods. Located high above the Napa Valley on the picturesque slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, Long Meadow Ranch produces extraordinary red wine, extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed beef, organic eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables for Napa Valley's finest restaurants. We focus on raising outstanding breeding for our beef. Scotch Highland beef is considered by many to be the best in the world and is even raised by the British royal family for its own consumption. In keeping with Long Meadow Ranch's organic practices, our beef is chemical-free, hormone-free and antibiotic-free. We make our own fertilizers on the Ranch through an extensive composting operation that relies on organic material from each segment of the Ranch. Soil erosion is controlled, and new soils are built through the extensive use of permanent cover crops made up of carefully selected grasses, clovers, and legumes. We do not use herbicides or pesticides and all crops are produced in accordance with the California Organic Foods Act of 1990. Long Meadow Ranch beef and eggs are available for sale at the Saint Helena Farmers Market, through the ranch's website (beef only!) and also on Saturdays from April to October at the LMR Rutherford Gardens - an open air market located in Rutherford, owned and operated by Long Meadow Ranch.
