Cabbage Hill Farm is a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable agriculture, the preservation of endangered breeds of historic farm animals, and the small farm. We are dedicated to the practice of sustainable agriculture and aquaponics. We hope to increase awareness through an educational model built around a working farm. The healthiest food is close to home. The farm raises fresh veggies, heritage cattle, pig and lamb, and tilapia. At Cabbage Hill Farm we are dedicated to the preservation of rare and minor breeds. We work towards conservation through scientific research, education of the public, sharing our research with small farmers, standardizing environmentally sound and humane farming practices and helping to reintroduce the heirloom breed products to the market. Cabbage Hill Farm has designed and continues to operate a simple recirculating aquaponic system. Aquaponics refers to the integration of hydroponic plant culture and fish aquaculture in one mutually beneficial system. It is the sustainable production of nutritious greens and high protein fish in an environmentally sound greenhouse setting.
