About Biggar Enterprizes

A small poultry farm in the hills of Tully, New York. We raise free-range turkeys in limited numbers to ensure quality of product for local consumers who want a wholesome bird raised in natural surroundings, free from antibiotics, and growth hormones. Our turkeys are the heritage breed bronze broad breasts. These large birds have dark brown feathers with white tips at the ends. The metallic sheen of the feathers ranges from green or blue, and seems to change from copper to bronze through to burnished gold as the sunlight plays gently across them, giving visual evidence of their wild ancestors from the Pilgrim times. They have a moist meat with a rich texture and an excellent full bodied flavor. Our turkeys become available only in November and are sold from a reserved list of past customers, or on a first come, first serve basis for the remaining birds. Please contact us during December or early January if you wish us to raise a bird just for you as it takes an average of 36 weeks to bring them to market weight. Price is around 3 dollars per pound with the average weight being 20 to 26 pounds per bird, plus the cost of processing. We do not ship our turkeys.
