Calypso Farm and Ecology Center is a nonprofit, educational farm based in Ester, Alaska, founded in 2000. We provides hands-on education to Fairbanks school children and community members through education programs. The diversified farm operates as a CSA to feed a number of local families through the growing season. We also operate the Schoolyard Garden Initiative, which runs 8 school gardens. Calypso Farm and Ecology Center is situated on 30 acres, with nearly three acres in cultivation. Beginning in early June, we offer 16-20 weeks (weather permitting) of fresh, organically grown vegetables and herbs. We grow over 50 vegetable, herb, and flower crops, with many varieties of each.
