Vermont Fresh Network
About Vermont Fresh Network
The Vermont Fresh Network (VFN) encourages farmers, food producers and chefs to work directly with each other to build partnerships. Building these regional connections contributes to stronger local communities and their economies. The quality and beauty of Vermont's landscape depends upon working farms and working farmers. The Vermont Fresh Network is dedicated to promoting and publicizing Vermont chefs and restaurants that use Vermont grown and produced foods. Chefs that purchase the products of Vermont's working landscape are helping to maintain this agricultural heritage and contribute to the future of Vermont's farm economy. For this reason, the VFN connects farmers with chefs, and promotes these partnerships. VFN's purpose also is the education of consumers. Through its website and links, the VFN hopes to educate the dining public of the wholesomeness, nutritional value, freshness, and safety of Vermont grown foods, as well as the economic impact of supporting local businesses. There are two ways to get involved: Eating Membership or Partner Membership. An Eating Membership applies to consumers or organizations that are not farmers or chefs but would like to support and celebrate the partnerships forged between the two. Chefs, restaurants, food producers, farmers or foodservice organizations can join VFN as a Partner Member. A Partner Membership is based upon "handshake agreements" between farmers, food producers and chefs. The membership symbolizes a willingness to work together and forge individual partnerships that benefit farms and restaurants.Near This Listing
