About County Meadows

Don and Shirley Hitchman have been producing goat cheeses commercially since 2002. The cheeses, which come from a grass and grain-fed herd of Nubian goats, are entirely free of hormones and antibiotics.

From their small herd of 25-30 goats, the Hitchmans have produced some of New York's best cheeses. Last year, their feta won the gold medal at the New York State Fair. County Meadows is a seasonal dairy, producing from April until the end of December. Cheeses can be purchased directly from the farm, at area retailers, and Fridays at the Canton farmers' market.
