Hayes Street Grill
About Hayes Street Grill
Patrons have described Hayes Street Grill as an unpretentious, delightful eatery that's an ideal place for dinner before a night out at the opera, ballet, or symphony. Owners Richard Sander and Patricia Unterman opened the grill for that very reason, as in 1979 there simply wasn't a good choice for dinner before hopping off for the Davies Symphony Hall or the War Memorial Opera House.
Hayes Street Grill serves local sustainably harvested fish and shellfish and are certified by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch. Their produce comes from local farms: Mariquita, Everything Under the Sun, Brokaw, Hamada, Yerena, Chue's, McGuiness, Alfieri, Bella Viva and others at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. (Owner Patricia Unterman is a founder of that market.) Their meats, poultry and dairy come from sustainable local producers.
