Saul's Restaurant and Deli
About Saul's Restaurant and Deli
Saul's Restaurant and Deli is a Jewish diner serving deli classics and comfort foods made contemporary, informed by principles of local sustainability and organics. Owners Karen Adelman and Chez Panisse alum Peter Levitt steward this cuisine to reflect season, time and place, thereby reconnecting with traditional culinary practices. The place of vegetables, fruit, legumes, and seafood in both present-day, sustainable eating and in Jewish cuisine are celebrated and central. Housemade sodas include celery, cream, cardamom, and seasonal fruit flavors. Old-world recipes grew from local economies and traditions pre-dating industrialized food. They believe that the authenticity of our cuisine depends on minimizing the impact of the industrial food system. They aim to bring local, artisanal, organic food production back to the diner.Near This Listing
