Chapel Hill Creamery is a 37-acre dairy and cheese-making farmstead offering a variety of cheese, pork, sausages, and beef. No external milk ever enters the farm. Cheeses include fresh mozzarella, Carolina Moon and New Moon (both Camembert cheeses), Hickory Grove (a fresh raw milk cheese), feta, fresh quark, a fresh farmers' cheese and more. Cheeses are available for purchase from farmers' markets in Carrboro, Raleigh, and Durham and at various natural food outlets and restaurants throughout the area. Cheeses are not sold directly from the farm. Visit their website for market hours and days. Their Jersey cow herd spends its time on lush pastures and an intensive rotational grazing system has been established to ensure that the livestock will have access to high-quality grass during the growing season. They are never never given growth hormones or routine antibiotics. Antibiotics will be administered if an animal falls ill, but milk is continually tested for residues before a cow is returned to production. Chapel Hill milks their cows and makes a range of delicious handcrafted artisan cheeses throughout the year. In addition, they raise whey-fed, pastured pigs, and produce a range of sausages, cuts of pork and Animal Welfare Approved pasture-raised beef.
