About Just Food Co-op

Just Food is a community owned grocery store that opened its doors in December 2004. Located in a small college town just outside of the Twin Cities, the co-op enjoys exceptional access to a large number of small, sustainable producers who supply the co-op with fresh, all-natural goods. In fact, much of Just Food's inventory comes from producers located within a twenty mile radius of the store--many other co-ops must rely on suppliers located upwards of fifty to one hundred miles away. This proximity to clean, wholesome food is appropriate, seeing as how the co-op's mission is to promote a sustainable lifestyle for all its members. Not only does the co-op purchase from local suppliers and, thus, support the local food economy, but it is also actively involved in promoting sustainability at the two local colleges, St. Olaf and Carleton. Just Food Co-op is a consumer co-operative where everyone is welcome to shop, and everyone is welcome to join. A consumer co-op is 100% member-owned by the very people who shop at the store. When you join the 1,214 other neighbors who have become members, you become an equal owner in Just Food and get to take part in the major decisions affecting the co-op.
