About Catalpa Ridge Farm

Each week during the harvest season, Catalpa Ridge Farm supplies fresh, quality organically grown produce to its CSF (Community Supported Farm) shareholders in the North Jersey and lower New York City area. The farm does not use pesticides or spray synthetic fertilizers of any kind, and because of this regulation, its standards exceed federal organic standards. Due to the farm's large and loyal customer base, we see no reason to pay for any certification that allows for practices that we reject, such as pesticide treatment. Our land is maintained through the use of applied mineral sources such as limestone and natural nutrient mixes, usually from the Fertrell Company, green manures and crop rotation practices. When our farm is unable to meet the demands of our CSF, we do supplement from local farms using sustainable methods. The harvest season starts in June and continues for 22 to 23 weeks, ending at the end of October. Our CSF members meet at established locations to pick-up their delivery of fresh produce. A newsletter is distributed to the members on a weekly basis that includes the picks of the week, recipes that relate to the picks and what has been happening at the farm over the last week. We also have a website that members can access to see what is new, current photos, happenings, planting schedules and more. Please visit our website for much more information about our CSF, our farm, and any events. Feel free to contact us with questions.
