About Stony Brook Farm

Stony Brook Farm is a small, diversified, pasture-based livestock farm nestled on a hillside of the Schoharie Valley in eastern New York State. We currently raise Large Black and Berkshire heritage breed pigs, Icelandic sheep, dairy and meat goats, laying hens, and meat chickens. We plan to add beef cattle in 2009.

Our goal is to provide an ecological and ethical alternative to industrially produced and distributed meat, poultry, and eggs. We strive to raise animals as naturally as possible. To this end, we raise all of the animals on rotationally-grazed pasture, with portable shelters that provide shade and protect from wind, rain, sleet, and snow. We feed the pigs and chickens certified organic grain, farm-grown forage, cull vegetables from a local farm, and milk from our own goats. The lambs and goats are 100% grassfed.
