Pret creates handmade, natural food, avoiding the obscure chemicals, additives and preservatives common to so much of the 'prepared' and 'fast' food on the market today. They seek high animal welfare standards and sustainable supply chains. They never use artificial flavors, artificial colors or artificial sweeteners. They serve organic milk, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and popcorn and continue to add to the list. Organic food is grown without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides or other toxic junk. Organic farming protects the environment and encourages sustainable farming practices. Their chicken, turkey, beef and ham are never processed more than they have to be. They buy directly from small cooperatives and family-run farmers like Satur Farms and Niman Ranch, who share their beliefs.
