About Paynes Produce

Payne's Produce is a locally owned and operated greenhouse and produce business. It has always been a Putnam County business and was started over 50 years ago by Joe and Virgie Payne. It has now grown to numerous greenhouses and tens of acres of farming of various vegetables including sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, peppers, etc.

They are located in the town of Winfield on Winfield Rd (the old Rt. 35) across from Fruth Pharmacy and Rocky Step Rd. Their hours depend on the season. During the spring their greenhouses are full of flowers, potted plants, and garden plants and seeds. During the summer they grow a full crop of homegrown vegetables. Each fall they grow pumpkins, some amazing mums at great prices, and offer fall decorations. During the winter...they rest...and order for next year!
