Capogiro Gelato Artisans opened its doors in December 2002. The family owned and run gelateria was conceived while Stephanie and John Reitano vacationed in John's native Italy.

Baffled at the lack of gelato back home, the couple decided to bring the Italian national pleasure back to the States. Staying true to Italian tradition, Stephanie first looks locally to find the best ingredients, selects flavors as dictated by the seasons and crafts gelato from scratch in small batches each morning.

Pennsylvania's rich farmlands provide an abundance of handpicked produce, including blackberries, Asian pears, and quince. Local dairy farms provide them with milk from grass-fed hormone-free cows. Italian artisan know-how ensures that these superior ingredients remain pure, natural, and authentic.
