The business idea sprouted one day when they went shopping at the local grocery store in Dupont Circle and decided that they were tired of buying "tired" produce and thought there were probably many others who felt the same way. They both were in the restaurant business at the time, me as a chef and Zeke in an owner partnership, and knew that there was better produce available then what was making it to the grocery stores. Voila...the birth of Washington's Green Grocer!!

Their priority and focus is to provide excellent quality produce and customer service to every customer while helping to grow, support and encourage sustainable local agriculture.
