Bunbury's is my favorite hangout when visiting Piermont, a quaint village on the Hudson River opposite Tarrytown, NY. They serve fantastic coffee and expresso drinks. Most of their coffees are organic, Rainforest Alliance and Bird Friendly. They also feature certified Fair Trade coffees, and Swiss-water processed decaf. Bunbury's also bakes the most amazing muffins and pastries in their own on-premises kitchen. Sometimes my Bunbury Muffin (their signature muffin: carrot-raisin with apple and walnut with a streusel topping) is still warm from the oven. Bunbury's also has unusual sandwiches and wraps, like their Turkey Bang Bang: roast turkey, cilantro, red onion and tomato with a thai peanut spread, on a whole wheat wrap. The shop is cozy and tiny, just 20 seats, but the atmosphere is homey and warm, with a big sofa and upholstered chair in the bay window; books, magazines and newspapers to read and a wonderfully friendly staff.
