Champlain Orchards
About Champlain Orchards
We are committed to maintaining and growing our ecological practices. Although the Champlain Valley is an optimal region for apple growing, our North East climate also makes our fruit especially vulnerable to disease and insect pressures. Long periods of humid weather is ideal for insect and fungal growth, therefore fully organic practices are out of our reach for the majority of our plantings. Despite this fact, we take every action possible to keep our practices ecologically minded and to continually reduce our chemical usage and carbon footprint. Our orchard efforts are therefore not only fruit production oriented, but also geared toward building a thriving ecosystem for native pollinators and beneficial insects as well as generating clean air, water and healthy soil.Near This Listing
