Doe Bay Resort and Retreat
About Doe Bay Resort and Retreat
The Doe Bay Resort and Retreat is a relaxing waterfront resort on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands, with houses, rustic cabins, yurts, a hostel and campsites available for your enjoyment. Relax, Dream, Meditate. Enjoy solitude or time with your friends. Hike the hills and walk the beaches and end your day in the Doe Bay Spa. If you are hungry… It is no secret anymore... the Doe Bay Café and the Doe Bay Garden create gourmet healthy fresh meals that are getting national attention. The Doe Bay Cafe supports local farmers by using in-season ingredients in everything they make. Orcas Island has an abundance of farms, foragers and fishermen that they draw on for fresh ingredients. Chef Abigael Birrell draws from what is on the islands, the surrounding waters and land of the region, and takes organic and seasonal fare to a new level of excellence. You are invited to visit the dining room over the water, where they feature delightful organic vegetables and fruits grown by a network of local Orcas farmers. Often the food you enjoy with us was harvested just hours before it is prepared, bringing you the peak of flavor and vitality. As proprietor Joe Brotheron writes, "I developed concerns about industrial food production. Having our own on-site organic garden costs much more than buying produce off site but we believe you will taste the difference. Our goal in the cafe is to minimize the distance from 'seed to table.'"Near This Listing
