Cathy Jones and Mike Perry have been farming in northern Chatham County since 1990. They have always farmed organically but they no longer get their farm certified. Sustainable practices such as cover crops, crop rotation, and biodiversity help keep pests and diseases in check and enhance crop quality. Perrly-winkle Farm produces a variety of crops including lettuce, greens, broccoli, garlic, peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, beans, potatoes, squash, cucumbers, herbs, cut flowers and eggs from pasture-raised hens. Peri-winkle Farm produce can be found at the Fearrington Village Farmers' Market on Tuesday afternoons starting at 4:00 p.m., and at the Carrboro Farmers' Market on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
