About Castlemaine Farm
Castlemaine is a small farm using sustainable practices. We had our first season in 2004, growing on a leased quarter acre field. Now we are growing chicken for meat and eggs, fruits, flowers, and vegetables such as garlic, lettuces, greens, tomatoes, onions, potatoes and more on our own 27 acres in Alamance County, near Liberty, NC. We sell our produce at Carrboro and Durham Farmers' Markets, and through our CSA to co-op grocery stores and local restaurants. We pride ourselves on giving our customers only the best produce from our fields. Freshness, quality and our dedication to sustainability are what separate us from the supermarkets and big box stores. We use no chemical fertilizers, herbicides or synthetic pesticides. We keep our soil healthy through crop rotation and cover cropping. We control weeds and pests primarily with our hands. Our chickens are raised for great tasting meat and eggs on pasture with the use of chicken tractors and portable net fencing. Chickens are processed at an Animal Welfare Approved facility.Near This Listing
