About Brook-Lin Jerseys

Linda Stone has been raising Jersey dairy cows on her small farm in Sadieville, Kentucky, for over 25 years. With a background in animal husbandry, including a degree in animal agriculture and dairy science, Linda worked as a veterinary technician before turning her attention to raising dairy cows full time. Linda’s extensive experience and knowledge made ensuring the health and comfort of her herd a top priority. So when she learned about the AWA program from a friend in 2008, she was thrilled to see that the standards aligned well with her farming practices. “Animal Welfare Approved is the best organization working for the dairy cows,” she explains. “I greatly admire Animal Welfare Approved for taking them on.” Linda is also a member of Kentucky Proud, a program designed to promote products grown on Kentucky farms. According to Linda, Kentucky’s climate allows for her herd to remain outdoors on pasture year-round. When describing her outdoor milking process, she says, “I call the girls, the girls come back to the patio for milking, and then they turn right back around again.” Linda welcomes customers to visit the farm and notes that children particularly enjoy learning about the cows and how farming works first hand.
