Dell'anima
About Dell'anima
Dell'anima was opened by chef Gabe Thompson and Joe Campanale on October 24, 2007 in the heart of New York City's West Village.
Dell'anima means "of the soul" in Italian and the food features hearty, eloquent dishes of thoughtful simplicity. Our menu offerings change daily, and we use local, seasonal, sustainably harvested produce where possible.
Thompson's menu features a selection of pastas made in-house daily, traditional dishes rarely found outside of Italy, and Italian-inspired creations that are of Thompson's own invention.
Campanale's wine list features an array of small production, high-quality selections with an emphasis on traditional and natural winemaking. Over 150 hand-chosen wines are selected for flavor, uniqueness and tradition. Every bottle is kept in our own temperature-controlled cellar, and expertly poured into hand-blown crystal glasses from Milan.
Photographer and restaurant partner Jamie Tiampo's prints decorate the vibrant space, designed by Brooke Maples. Dell'anima can accommodate up to 45 guests, and six lucky people may sit at the chef's counter, providing a commanding view of chef Gabriel Thompson's open kitchen. Bar seats are available for walk-ins, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, a cocktail, or eat a whole meal.
