About Poppy Restaurant
Chef/owner Jerry Traunfeld’s Capitol Hill restaurant brings a new style of dining to the northwest. The inspiration comes from the "thali," a platter served to each guest holding a variety of small dishes. Poppy’s kitchen ingredients come from as close as its back door, where an extensive garden tended by Jerry supplies most of its culinary herbs. Beyond that, it brings in the best of the Northwest in its seasons, including produce from many nearby farms, sustainable fish and shellfish, ethically raised meats, wild forged mushrooms and farmstead cheeses.
