Tara Firma Farms is a sustainable farm producing food that connects the community to each other. In 2009, they set off on a mission to create a source of food produced with the highest integrity and to allow the people who consume their food full access to their farm. From the inception they have offered FREE weekend tours, providing education to the public. This allows the community to learn where their food comes from, how they can be accountable in the process, choosing between conventional, organic or local and knowing all the differences to make educated decisions. By including customers, it keeps Tara Firma Farms accountable to produce the highest quality food in the most sustainable and ecologically sound way. Over 8000 adults and children have visited. Inspired by the genius of Joel Salatin, owner of Polyface Farms, they were able to bring this vision and their community together to experience healthy food and the life cycles that support each other and our planet.
