ChickCharney Farm is on a mission to preserve vanishing historic varieties of poultry. Domestic ducks, geese, turkeys and chickens fit right in to small family farms of the past, and they think they still do. The plan is to hang on to rare breeds of poultry so that future generations can enjoy them, and to demonstrate to today's homesteaders that heritage poultry are not just pretty birds; they are productive and useful in small scale, sustainable, local agriculture. Come harvest log-grown shiitake mushrooms, plant microgreens, learn about pastured poultry production, watch chicks hatching and swimming ducklings, and be sure to get a video of their fainting goats!
