About Local Root

Local Root is planted in the heart of the Streeterville community between Navy Pier and Michigan Ave in a comfortable and cozy space. They believe that the food system needs to be changed to save the world, that industrial food production is not sustainable and that it's time to go back to the community. In accordance with these beliefs, Local Root sources locally from farms, distilleries and vineyards that they have cultivated long standing relationships with to turn delicious ingredients into the food and drinks you love. They are also a zero-waste restaurant. Their sustainability initiatives include gardening, genuine recycling, waste tracking and composting. For Local Root, it is all about responsibility, community and hospitality.
