About Marathon

When they opened the first Marathon in 1984, their goal was simple: to provide the neighborhood with the highest quality fresh food at an excellent value. The seeds they planted in our 10-seat burger joint in Northeast Philadelphia have grown into what Marathon is today. Today, their talented team of chefs share the same core principles of consistency, a focus on freshness, and sourcing the best seasonal products available.

They personally believe in the buy local movement and do their best to participate in it. For them, it is all about creating relationships and building strong partnerships through their metal-smiths to the mural artists they work with to make our spaces feel better to the farmers they buy from, and urban-farms they hope to build.
