The River School Farm is a venue for year-round farming, special events, and educational opportunities that demonstrate a holistic approach to sustainable living, bio-regional design, and creative expression. They grow fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs, and raise poultry. Their special events include everything from weddings and festivals, to birthday parties and bar-b-ques, to eco-friendly art camps for kids. The River School Farm hosts a variety of classes and workshops that are open to the public. These include dance, yoga, drumming, along with a variety of organic gardening workshops and more! The River School Farm prides itself on growing food year-round in this High Desert, urban environment. Using a variety of innovative growing techniques they are able to produce a diverse mix of organic vegetables and herbs, even in the coldest months. They practice responsible micro-farming, aspiring to work within a closed system where they generate their own fertility and food. In that pursuit The River School Farm also raises chickens, ducks, goats and keeps bees, all of whom contribute to a healthy, wholesome model of living.
