We provide produce, fruit , herbs & eggs exclusively for "The Linkery", a Community Supported Restaurant, located in the North Park section of San Diego. Their menu changes daily, so they are able to take advantage of truly fresh ingredients furnished by various local farmers & ranchers. Chickens are our specialty. We raise both Standard & Bantam Fowl. Mille Fleur Bantam Cochin are our main focus. We will be breeding 4th generation this Spring 2010. We have chicks, adults or hatching eggs available. We ship both Millie Fleur hatching eggs & started birds. Other Cochin projects in the works for 2010 are Lemon Blue Standard Cochins, Buff Barred Bantam Cochins & Crele Bantam Cochins. Among other breeds that we specialize in are Bantam D'Uccle (feather footed) in Mille Fleur, Black Mottled & Blue Mottled. Both D'Uccles & Bantam Cochin are perfect in size for the 4-H'ers; gentle, small & stately birds. Hatching eggs & baby chicks of these & various other breeds are now available for sale. If you have a special request, we would be happy to hatch chicks to order. Please email for additional information on breeds & availability. . We have two registerd (AGS & NDGA) Dwarf Nigerian Milk Goats, Sparrow & Zuki, who supply us with 2 qts of superb goats milk daily. From this we make European style yogurt in the traditional creamy smooth method as found in Greece. This yogurt is outstanding with slices of our own home grown figs. Our Chev're is quickly becoming the appetizer of choice as it is reminiscent of France, Italy & Greece. We were pleased to obtain another doe (2008) from Tina French of Take Heart Farms. Sweetums is true to her name & comes with an outstanding milking background. Sweetums presented us with triplet doelings on June 6, 2009. Our little herd is now complete We are now raising Jumbo Coturnix Quail. Baby Quail Chicks & eggs are available year round. Coturnix start laying at 5 weeks of age & are mature in 8 weeks. They are a very gentle breed & are prolific egg layers. We harvested the first honey from our hive this summer. We are truely pleased with it's rich, silky flavor. We plan to introduce another hive in Spring of 2010. We will then have a limited amount of raw filtered honey to sell. Our water supply is from a well powered by a solar pump. Fertilizer is complimentary of our goats & chickens. We use no commercial fertilizers or pesticides. We are located in North County San Diego, close to Temecula & Murrieta.
