About Rose's
Justin and Katie Meddis were trying to plan how they could have their careers, see each other and help make a difference. Justin is a chef and butcher, and Katie a pastry chef. They decided to combine forces and open a meat & sweet shop. Thus, the concept of Rose's was born. The idea grew and grew until they decided to move to Durham. Upon arrival, they hit the ground running. Visiting farms, doing pop-up dinners, farmers market demos, butchery classes, testing recipes, all the while researching local meat and other ingredients. Justin and Katie are passionate about working with and selling high quality, local, pasture raised meats and using local, sustainable ingredients.
