About Salish Sea Trading Cooperative
Since 2010, this sailor-owned cooperative has been patiently revitalizing low-carbon sail transport for local goods in the Puget Sound. Once a month, they sail over fresh, organic vegetables from Dharma Ridge Farm on the Olympic Peninsula to Toast cafe in downtown Ballard. Their boats also transport other goods, such as grains, cider, or bike parts. They partner with others in the sustainability community to increase foodshed resiliency and they are developing other local routes such as Bainbridge Island.
