In 2009, Sherry Grimes established the catering company Anderson’s 1949 -brooklyn-. Sherry, a former Neuroscientist and life-long food enthusiast completed her formal training at The French Culinary Institute after over ten years of self-directed culinary adventures. Sherry is also an active participant in New York and New Jersey’s urban agriculture movement as a former farmer at La Finca Del Sur, the first female founded and operated farm in the South Bronx. Sherry’s passion for food and cooking is evident in every detail of her work. From sourcing, menu planning, and presentation, Sherry keeps in mind the specific tastes and desires of each individual client and strives to bring the freshest, local ingredients to your table. In 2012, she was chosen to cook for President Obama and the First Lady at a presidential fundraiser at Jean-Georges’ ABC Kitchen. Today, she has opened her -Montclair- restaurant, which functions on the farm-minded, local principles that her catering company does.
