Sitting on a pier, legs dangling over the edge, eating a fresh lobster roll. Venturing into the wharfs to buy the freshest catch from fishmongers. These are the childhood memories that developed a love of seafood in chef Jason Neroni, and led to the conception of Catch & Release, a new seafood venture in Marina Del Rey. Neroni grew up in Orange County, California, but each summer he and his family would head back east to Maine for family reunions. Memories of Maine summers and precious time spent bonding over food with family led to the conception of Catch & Release. Neroni has honed his culinary craft in kitchens all over the world, and these experiences are evidenced by the international influences on the menu, from French bouillabaisse to Spanish paella. Catch & Release, while finding its providence in Maine, will retain the Californian sensibility for which Neroni has become known, serving seasonal seafood and vegetables, whenever possible, from local and sustainable sources.
